Adidas Youth Mat Wizard 4
We’re not quite sure if Adidas keeps a magic spell book tucked in their back room, or if they have an actual wizard on the design team but that is our only explanation for the Adidas Mat Wizard 4. The Mat Wizard 4 is a part of the new Adidas wrestling line for the upcoming season, and from its sleek and modern upper to its ultra-traction bottoms, it must have been something a sorcerer conjured up.
Starting at the top of the shoe and working down, the Mat Wizard 4 is a mid-cut shoe that still achieves superb levels of ankle support. Topped with a very easy lace securing pocket to keep everything buttoned down, it almost magically tucks the laces cleanly away to cap off its sleek look. The material of the upper is extremely well put together, composed of a highly breathable mesh that keeps feet happy and dry. The TPU material stripes help achieve the ultimate sock-like fit right out of the box and allows the shoe to only get more comfortable with wear. The EVA midsole creates an angle to keep you securely on your toes for a powerful offense and unusually fast reattacks. The feel of the upper is truly like no other shoe before it and adds an elite-level feeling of durability to the shoe. No magic robe required. The advanced sole on the Adidas Mat Wizard 4 is the extremely popular high-grip, unisole design. Very similar to other high-grip shoes, the sole rises higher up on the ankle allowing for maximum grip in every position. Featuring drive-specific areas that allow for maximum traction in important areas of the foot, the sole is designed for those sticky scramble situations. However, unlike a lot of other high-grip shoes and unlike any other unisole shoe available, the Mat Wizard 4 maintains a very high level of flexibility.
Lastly, and maybe the most spectacular part of the Mat Wizard 4, is its price point. The Mat Wizard’s design is extremely similar to the Adidas “Rio” model, from its high-tech upper to the ultra-grip sole. However, the “Rio” was one of the highest retailing shoes ever released, starting out at approximately $199.99 in 2016 (now that’s a large chunk of change), while the new Mat Wizard 4 checks in at almost half that. So, if you’re looking for a shoe to magically elevate your wrestling experience, while not breaking the bank, look no further than something that must have been created by the Mat Wizards themselves – The Mat Wizard 4!
